Soulbase
I'm looking for film title sequences and film festival intro's for inspiration in our next project. I found via the GDS Delicious links a site titled "Forget the Film, Watch the Titles". If that doesn't sound perfect, I don't know what does. So, I get there and see an interesting image:
I wasn't really too certain what I was going to see. I thought it might be a title sequence for the new Batman movie that is due out this summer. I clicked it and was intrigued as it was narrated by someone who was telling my life's story. It was a story of being up against a wall with no inspiration or ideas, aka "The Block". Who was this guy? The film was very interesting and extremely well done. I wanted more. I'm inspired. I search to find the author of this amazing piece that was apparently shown at a recent Amsterdam design and technology event FITC 2012. I think that this one is the actual opening titles that were played for the FITC 2012 event. This is an amazing animation experience as well. These are very talented creators. Soulbase is the name of the design company based in the Netherlands. Wow! It would be great to be this good one day.

Design Reel? or Artistic Philosophy?
I found this via our gds - delicious links. In watching their design reel I recognized several clips from a favorite show that I watch called True Blood. I must have spent an hour being amazed over and over that this is the creative group that created so many great and popular ads, apps, and trailers.
I don't know which is more awesome, the video of this Transformers App, or the app itself. I'll have to see if I can find it or if it is still available. It looks all too cool. We're working on our TV spots, and sites like this are terrific inspiration. Don't spend too much time there though.

Not motion graphics, But excellent advertising!!!
I found this hilarious ad on the facebook page of a friend that I met while attending a field trip in November.
I thought the ad was so funny and brilliantly executed that I signed up. If you follow this link and decide to sign up, it will save me even more. No obligation though to see this ad. You simply must see it. It's great!

Roger Reel found at MotionSpire
This week I went to the gds Delicious link page for motion design and found MotionSpire as probably the first and most recent link that was saved there. Once there, I explored a little bit, but came back to one of the first links that I explored there because this demo reel is really impressive. I would love to create something as impressive someday. I love that the range of medium is so vast. There is what I would classify as traditional animation or "cartoon animation", there is "motion graphics" using images, there are special effects applied, all to a catchy tune. It's fast paced, entertaining, and very fun to watch. I've seen it at least four or five times already and see something different that I missed before each time.

Ghost Productions Medical Animation
Hillary just posted this a week ago, and I'll be posting more. For my own archival purposes, I want to post this here too. I was so impressed with the crisp animation, not to mention the incredible story that unfolds in this animation. It is, as Hillary said in her blog a demo reel done by Ghost Productions. I was actually emailed a link to this by my Mom and was going to post when I saw that my classmate had already done so.
